Where we design and install cabinets

Our team provides built-in bookcases and home office millwork, delivering storage that suits the architecture of each house and tidy break rooms for both residential and commercial projects. Every job starts with our own installer measuring the rooms in person, followed by drawings you approve and a written warranty on the finished work.

From adjustable leveling feet under base boxes on an uneven slab to outfitting every room of a new custom home, our team handles every detail. Serving Austin, Rollingwood, Barton Creek, Lost Creek and Volente, we come to the house rather than asking you to drive across town.

Why the Area Around Austin Is Not One Cabinet Market

The communities west and southwest of downtown sit on or beyond the Balcones Escarpment, where the land climbs into rolling hills over limestone. That geography, plus six decades of building, has left a patchwork of housing. A few miles separate a 1950s ranch on a large lot, a 1980s country-club estate, a 2000s production home in a master plan and a house finished last year.

Each of those needs a different conversation. An older kitchen is usually a question of replace or reface. A twenty-year-old builder kitchen is often an upgrade. A new custom home is a design job from the first sketch. The groups below explain which kind of work each community tends to call for, and each town has its own page with more detail.

Established West-Side Towns: Rollingwood, West Lake Hills, Sunset Valley and Shady Hollow

These are the older communities on the list, and most of their homes predate 1990.

Rollingwood

Rollingwood grew from ranch land and incorporated in 1955 as a small city inside Austin. Its original modest ranch homes now sit beside teardowns and brand-new builds, so one street can need a full-gut kitchen replacement next door to cabinetry for a new custom house. Style has to follow each home rather than a single look.

West Lake Hills

Incorporated in 1953 and kept low-density since, West Lake Hills has wooded, sloping lots and many homes from its 1970s and 1980s growth. Split-level plans and long runs facing the views are common, and kitchens from that era are ready for a remodel.

Sunset Valley

Known for one-acre minimum lots and a rural feel close to downtown, Sunset Valley has ranch houses that owners tend to expand rather than replace. Additions bring new kitchens, laundry rooms and built-ins that must sit comfortably beside the original rooms.

Shady Hollow

Begun in the early 1970s and built out mainly through the 1980s and 1990s, Shady Hollow is the south-side pick. It was built in six sections by different builders, from Shady Hollow West to Barker Ranch, so the oldest ranch and contemporary homes sit near later New Traditional designs. Its original oak kitchens are prime candidates for replacement or refacing, and the acre-plus lots of Shady Hollow Estates carry larger homes with more rooms to fit out.

Estate and Club Communities: Barton Creek and The Hills

Barton Creek

Developed from the mid-1980s around Barton Creek Country Club, Barton Creek is mostly newer luxury stock in Tuscan, Mediterranean, Hill Country and contemporary styles. The work here extends well past the kitchen: butler's pantries, wine storage, libraries, dressing rooms and closets, often in detailed, furniture-grade finishes or, on contemporary homes, clean slab fronts.

The Hills

The Hills is a gated village established in 1981 around the Hills of Lakeway club, whose first course was the first in Austin designed solely by Jack Nicklaus. Much of the housing went up in the 1990s and 2000s, so those kitchens are now at remodel age. Work inside the gates means arranging contractor access and planning around neighborhood rules before the first delivery.

Lake Travis and Master-Planned Living: Lakeway and Steiner Ranch

Lakeway

Lakeway began as a resort community on Lake Travis, with lot sales opening in 1963 and the Lakeway Inn and marina following that summer. It now has the widest spread of house ages on our list, from original lake homes due a full remodel to recent custom builds. Lake houses also bring their own rooms to fit: wet bars, mudrooms by the lake door and storage for gear.

Steiner Ranch

Steiner Ranch is a 4,600-acre master plan on former ranch land beside Lake Travis, built out in phases with about fifty subdivisions, each under its own HOA. Most homes date from the 1990s and 2000s and were finished with production-builder kitchens. That makes it an upgrade market: new doors, better hardware, a larger island or a rebuilt pantry, as well as full replacements where the boxes have worn.

Original Kitchens and Lake Homes: Lost Creek and Volente

Lost Creek

Lost Creek sits between Barton Creek and West Lake Hills, and most of its houses went up in the 1960s and 1970s. Many still carry the kitchen from that first build, which in a high-value home usually points to a full replacement, or to refacing where the original boxes are still dry and square. Walls and floors in houses of that age have usually moved, so new cabinetry is scribed to fit them rather than set against a straight line.

Volente

Volente is a small village on Lake Travis, and its housing comes in two very different kinds. Many homes are newer lake houses built since 2000, while a scatter of much older cabins sits beside them. Two neighbors can therefore need opposite jobs: a newer kitchen upgraded to suit the view, or a compact cabin kitchen where every box is replaced and the storage is planned again from the floor up.

What Shapes the Cost of Cabinet Work Across the Area

Where you live does not set the price. The house does. These are the drivers we price from in every community.

  • Linear footage of base, wall and tall cabinets.
  • Box construction, plywood or particleboard.
  • Door style, and whether doors are inset or overlay.
  • Species and finish, from painted MDF to stained hardwoods and glazed finishes.
  • Custom sizing versus semi-custom lines.
  • Hardware and accessories, including soft-close hinges, full-extension slides and pull-outs.
  • Demolition and countertop removal in an existing kitchen.
  • Wall and floor conditions, which vary a lot between an older ranch on limestone and a new slab.
  • Access, such as gated entry or a hillside driveway that limits deliveries.

A free in-home measure turns those into a written quote for your house specifically.

Booking a Measure Outside the City

Call with your address and a short description of the room. We will confirm that your street is in our service area and set a time for the measure. If you live behind a gate or under an HOA, tell us on the call so we can plan access and any approvals early. The installer who measures is the one who returns to install, so the details you share at that first visit travel all the way through the project.

Questions

Questions About Our Service Area

Which communities do you serve?

Austin plus ten Travis County communities: Rollingwood, West Lake Hills, Sunset Valley, Shady Hollow, Barton Creek, Lost Creek, Steiner Ranch, The Hills, Lakeway and Volente. If your town is nearby but not listed, call and ask.

Do you charge more to travel to Lakeway or Volente?

The measure is free wherever you are in our area. Any cost difference comes from the project itself, such as size, materials and access, and it is written into your quote.

Can you work within HOA or gated community rules?

Yes. Tell us about the gate and any architectural review when you call, and we plan access, delivery times and paperwork before the job is scheduled.

My house was built in the 1980s. Should I replace or reface?

It depends on the boxes. If they are dry, square and well attached, refacing or new doors can work well. If a sink base has water damage or the layout no longer suits you, replacement is the better investment. We check at the measure.

Can new cabinets suit a Mediterranean or historic-style home?

Yes. Face frames, inset doors, stain-grade hardwoods, glazed finishes and traditional profiles let new cabinetry match the architecture, and custom sizing handles walls that are not perfectly square.

Can you supply cabinetry for a new build or teardown rebuild?

Yes. For new construction we work from the architect's or builder's plans, prepare shop drawings for approval, and schedule delivery to fit the construction sequence, so the cabinets arrive when the rooms are ready for them rather than sitting in a garage for weeks.

How long before you can measure?

Call and we will give you the next available measure date. Scheduling depends on the current workload, so we confirm it on the phone rather than promising a fixed wait here.

Is the work covered by a warranty?

Yes, every installation in every community we serve comes with a written warranty.

Do you take commercial jobs outside Austin too?

Yes. Office breakrooms, reception millwork, casework and builder packages are available across the same service area. Send your plans for a bid.
